Software Developer - C++

Role Summary

Join the Siemens EDA Solido engineering team in Saskatoon to develop C++ software for semiconductor design and verification tools. The team builds simulation, characterization, validation, and AI-driven features used by chip design and manufacturing customers.

The role involves designing and implementing high-quality software, collaborating with internal teams and external technology partners, and prototyping generative/agentic AI features for EDA workflows.

Responsibilities

Develop and maintain C++ software for electronic design automation products and AI-driven features.

  • Design, implement, test, and optimize C++ code for performance and memory efficiency.
  • Collaborate with global engineering teams and semiconductor customers to define and deliver features.
  • Debug, profile, and optimize multithreaded and high-performance data structures and algorithms.
  • Contribute to GUI work (Qt), testing, and source-control workflows (Git).
  • Prototype generative and agentic AI concepts for integration into EDA tools.

Requirements

Must-have qualifications and core skills required to perform the role.

  • Proven ability to develop high-quality software in a collaborative environment (academic or professional).
  • Strong C++ and object-oriented programming skills; experience on Linux.
  • Experience with testing, Git, debugging, profiling, and memory optimization.
  • Experience with high-performance data structures, algorithms, and multithreaded programming.
  • Effective written and verbal communication; ability to document work and collaborate in code reviews.
  • Customer-focused mindset and ability to prioritize based on ROI and customer needs.
  • Willingness to learn and adapt to new technical challenges.
  • Must be available to work from the Saskatoon, SK facility (onsite requirement).
  • Employment is subject to U.S. export control (ITAR/EAR) requirements; must verify U.S. Person status or obtain necessary export licenses if applicable.

Nice-to-have:

  • Experience with generative or agentic AI, Monte Carlo statistics, test automation, transistor-level circuit design, or EDA CAD tools.
  • Familiarity with SQL, numerical analysis, machine learning, operating systems, compiler design, computer architecture, or release management.
