Software Characterization Engineering Intern
Role Summary
Internship in Qorvo's Connectivity and Sensors business group supporting software characterization and automated RF test solutions for power amplifiers, switches, and related devices.
This role contributes to test automation, software tooling, and data integration for product characterization and validation under the guidance of engineering mentors.
Experience Level
Intern β college student currently enrolled in a Bachelor's, Master's, or PhD program; no prior years-of-experience required.
Responsibilities
Typical assignments are project-based and vary with business needs. Examples include:
- Develop and implement automated RF test solutions to support characterization and compliance testing.
- Design and maintain cost-effective test methods and troubleshooting procedures for product development phases.
- Develop, streamline, and maintain application and test software; benchmark tools to improve efficiency.
- Support API development, data structures, data integration, data visualization, and database implementation.
- Document designs and test results; follow team development and reporting practices.
- Provide technical support to internal customers and assist in resolving equipment or software issues.

Must-have:
- Currently enrolled in a college degree program (see Education Requirements for details).
- Working knowledge of one or more programming languages: C#, Python, or C++.
- Strong debugging, problem-solving skills, and familiarity with development environments and shell scripting.
- Understanding of multi-threading paradigms, algorithms, or basic database concepts.
- Proficiency with Microsoft Office (Excel, Word, PowerPoint) and clear written/verbal communication.
- Self-starter with strong organization skills and attention to detail.
- Position is not eligible for visa sponsorship by the company; candidates must have work authorization.
Nice-to-have:
- Experience with AI/ML integrations (for example via APIs).
- Exposure to API design, data visualization, or database design and implementation.
- Familiarity with RF test equipment or characterization workflows.
Education Requirements
Currently enrolled in an accredited Bachelor's, Master's, or PhD program in Computer Science, Electrical Engineering, Computer Engineering, or a closely related technical field. Minimum cumulative GPA of 3.0 required. Internship enrollment and academic standing are mandatory.
