Role Summary

Design software architecture for NVIDIA networking devices, SmartNICs, and DPUs. Work with system architects, software/firmware engineers, hardware designers, and product stakeholders to define component- and system-level solutions for datacenter platforms.

The team focuses on AI networking, virtualization, operating systems, security, management, and programmable acceleration to deliver performant, scalable datacenter infrastructure.

Experience Level

Senior; 1+ years of relevant experience.

Responsibilities

The role requires translating system requirements into architecture proposals, prototypes, and design documentation, and collaborating across software, firmware, and hardware teams.

• Define software architecture for networking devices, SmartNICs, and DPUs.
• Analyze system requirements across networking protocols, virtualization, OS, security, management, and services.
• Research design alternatives and build proof-of-concept models, simulations, and prototypes.
• Collaborate on HW/SW co-design, performance, scalability, and resource-utilization trade-offs.
• Produce clear architecture proposals, design documents, and technical presentations.

Requirements

• Must-have: 1+ years relevant experience; strong programming skills in C/C++ for large or embedded systems.
• Solid understanding of operating systems, multithreading, and computer architecture.
• Ability to learn new technologies quickly, investigate ambiguous problems, and work independently and in teams.
• Clear written and verbal communication skills.
• Nice-to-have: knowledge of Ethernet, InfiniBand, RDMA, RoCE, TCP/IP, or congestion control.
• Experience with Linux, kernel development, device drivers, embedded systems, or system software.
• Experience building simulations, performance models, prototypes, or proof-of-concept software.
• Exposure to virtualization, security, programmable acceleration, SmartNICs, DPUs, or DOCA; open-source contributions or relevant internship/project work.

Education Requirements

B.Sc. or M.Sc. in Computer Science, Electrical Engineering, Computer Engineering, or a related field.
