Software Architect, Advanced Development
Role Summary
Lead software architecture and research for advanced networking, security, and communications features within the Software Architecture Research team. Work on hardware/software co-design, hardware offload and acceleration, distributed accelerator networks, and AI-driven networking and security solutions.
Experience Level
Senior-level (Architect). The posting requests 0–2 years of relevant experience and is suitable for recent BSc/MSc graduates.
Responsibilities
Key responsibilities include:
- Technically lead feature development and interface with customers and R&D on architecture and design.
- Define clear requirements and map them to hardware, firmware, and software capabilities.
- Research existing platform support and design end-to-end solutions to meet requirements.
- Perform simulations from component-level to full data-center environments.
- Develop SDKs for novel hardware capabilities and implement runtimes and services.
- Design and implement applications and runtime systems leveraging new SDKs.
- Evaluate and optimize application and system performance.
- Collaborate with internal teams and external researchers to advance features and prototypes.
- Work with AI-enabled networking systems that interact with other network components.
Requirements
Must-have and preferred qualifications:
- Must-have: 0–2 years of relevant experience.
- Must-have: Knowledge of networking, operating systems, accelerator programming, and systems.
- Must-have: Track record of research excellence and strong analytical skills.
- Must-have: Good written and verbal communication skills.
- Nice-to-have: Practical experience with networking and operating-system projects beyond coursework.
- Nice-to-have: Familiarity with large language models (LLMs) or related AI techniques applied to networking/security.
Education Requirements
BSc or MSc in Electrical Engineering, Computer Science/Engineering, Mathematics, Physics, Statistics, or a related technical field.
