Job Title

Software Application Development Engineer

Role Summary

Member of the New Product Introduction (NPI) Systems team within Intel Foundry Automation (IFA). Develop full-stack software to support semiconductor manufacturing and assembly/test workflows, including new product introduction, execution readiness, build logistics, and Design of Experiments (DOE) planning.

Work with technology development and high-volume manufacturing teams to deliver reliable, high-performance automation applications and provide ongoing factory support.

Experience Level

Mid-level β€” typically requires at least 2 years of professional object-oriented software design and development experience.

Responsibilities

Primary responsibilities include design, delivery, and support of automation applications across the software lifecycle.

  • Design, develop, test, and support automation applications for NPI workflows, execution readiness, build logistics, and DOE planning.
  • Manage the full software project lifecycle: requirements analysis, design, implementation, automated testing, and deployment.
  • Collaborate with Assembly Test Technology Development (ATTD), Logic Technology Development (LTD), and factory teams to translate stakeholder needs into system solutions.
  • Build scalable, high-performance, and maintainable multi-tiered applications that meet business and manufacturing requirements.
  • Develop and execute automated test suites to ensure functionality, reliability, and performance.
  • Provide technical support and troubleshooting to process engineers and factory operations.
  • Work effectively with remote, cross-functional teams and adapt solutions to ambiguous requirements.

Requirements

  • U.S. Citizenship required.
  • Ability to obtain and maintain U.S. Government Top Secret (TS) security clearance and Sensitive Compartmented Information (SCI) access.
  • 2+ years of object-oriented software design and development experience.
  • Experience with Microsoft technologies: C#, .NET Framework.
  • Experience with front-end frameworks: Angular and TypeScript.
  • Experience with database development in PL/SQL (Oracle) and/or T-SQL (Microsoft SQL Server).
  • Experience working in Agile/Scrum development processes.
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills; clear written and verbal communication; project planning and organizational skills.

Nice-to-have:

  • Experience developing WPF (Windows Presentation Foundation) applications and WCF (Windows Communication Foundation) services.
  • Experience designing multi-tiered and integrated software systems and addressing scalability needs.
  • Software project management experience across the software development lifecycle.
  • Experience applying new requirements to an existing software stack efficiently.

Education Requirements
