Job Title
SoC Verification Manager
Role Summary
Lead a team of 7β8 SoC and subsystem verification engineers delivering customer-facing verification engagements across automotive, aerospace, defense, and high-performance computing domains. Own scoping, resource planning, technical reviews, and delivery quality for pre-silicon verification projects.
Act as the primary customer-facing verification lead: translate vague requests into executable verification plans, mentor engineers, and coordinate with sales, application engineering, and internal teams to keep projects on schedule.
Experience Level
Senior β requires substantial hands-on SoC verification and team leadership experience; the posting specifies 12+ years of experience.
Responsibilities
You will manage verification delivery, mentor engineers, and interface with customers and internal stakeholders to ensure successful project outcomes.
- Lead and manage a team of 7β8 verification engineers across multiple customer engagements.
- Scope verification activities, define deliverables, and create actionable verification plans with customers.
- Assess project complexity, propose staffing and timelines, and manage execution to meet commitments.
- Mentor engineers on UVM methodology, debug strategies, coverage closure, and customer communication.
- Review testbench code, verification plans, coverage reports, and waveform analysis; provide technical feedback.
- Report project status, flag risks early, and resolve execution issues with peers and senior management.
- Promote and drive adoption of Synopsys verification tools (VCS, Verdi, Synopsys VIP) within projects and collaborate to improve methodology.
Requirements
Must-have technical and leadership skills for this role.
- Deep pre-silicon verification expertise: UVM testbench development, coverage analysis, verification planning, and complex debug.
- Hands-on experience with VCS, Verdi or similar waveform analyzers, and integration of third-party VIP (experience with Synopsys VIP preferred).
- Strong knowledge of industry protocols such as PCIe, Ethernet, USB, DDR and familiarity with processor, interconnect, or debug architectures.
- Proven ability to lead verification projects from planning through delivery and to mentor engineers effectively.
- Solid understanding of ASIC design flows, RTL design concepts, and how verification integrates into chip development.
-
Nice-to-have: Prior experience managing scope, timelines, and resources for customer-facing service engagements.
Education Requirements
Bachelor's or Master's degree in Electronics Engineering or a related technical field is specified. The posting requires 12+ years of hands-on SoC verification experience.
