This role sits within Qualcomm's SoC hardware organization and collaborates with architects, designers, and pre/post-silicon teams worldwide.
Experience Level
Senior-level role. Candidates are expected to have substantial ASIC design verification experience; senior hires typically bring 10+ years of relevant experience.
Responsibilities
Primary responsibilities focus on planning, implementing, and executing verification activities and improving verification efficiency.
- Develop detailed verification plans and define verification scope from design specifications.
- Build and maintain verification infrastructure and testbenches.
- Implement and run verification test cases; debug complex functional issues.
- Create and analyze SystemVerilog assertions and coverage (code, toggle, functional).
- Collaborate with architects, RTL designers, and pre/post-silicon teams to resolve issues.
- Introduce and evaluate new verification tools, methodologies, and automation to improve quality and efficiency.
- Follow verification standards and best practices across projects.
Requirements
Core technical skills and domain experience required; listed as must-have vs. nice-to-have.
-
Must-have:
- Significant ASIC/SoC design verification experience with full verification lifecycle (test planning through tapeout) for large hardware designs.
- Strong SystemVerilog and UVM expertise; experience with assertion and coverage-driven verification.
- Proven debug skills and ability to resolve complex functional issues.
- Experience developing verification infrastructure and testbenches; familiarity with verification tools and automation.
- Effective written and verbal communication for cross-functional collaboration.
-
Nice-to-have:
- Knowledge of SoC/CPU (ARM), DSP, AMBA, DDR, GPU, and multimedia subsystems.
- Experience with heterogeneous multi-die systems and D2D interfaces (e.g., UCIe, CXL).
- Pre-silicon emulation platform experience and formal verification exposure.
- Scripting skills (Perl, Python) and experience with assertion convergence or formal tools.
- Familiarity with power design and power-aware verification considerations.
Education Requirements
Qualifications reference Bachelor's, Master’s, or PhD in Science, Engineering, or related fields; equivalent practical experience accepted. The posting lists degree-plus-experience alternatives (e.g., Bachelor's + ~6+ years, Master’s + ~5+ years, PhD + ~4+ years) and also indicates senior candidates commonly have 10+ years of design verification experience.
