SoC Silicon Validation — Embedded Firmware Infrastructure Development Engineer, Sr. Lead
QualcommJob Title
SoC Silicon Validation — Embedded Firmware Infrastructure Development Engineer, Sr. Lead
Role Summary
Work on Snapdragon SoC silicon validation focused on embedded firmware infrastructure for production VI content testing and silicon bring-up. Collaborate with IP validation, systems validation, DFT and SLT teams to enable and debug SoC features and regressions.
Experience Level
Senior role. Typically requires 6+ years of embedded hardware/firmware engineering experience (see Education Requirements for degree-based alternatives).
Responsibilities
Primary responsibilities include silicon bring-up, framework development, validation and debug.
- Develop and bring up SVE infrastructure/framework for enabling VI content in production testing.
- Integrate with IP validation and system/content engineers for bring-up and verification.
- Plan and execute frequent SoC regressions and end-to-end test suites considering power and performance corner cases.
- Execute test releases on lab benches and support DFT and SLT teams in debug and feature enablement.
- Regularly report issues and collaborate on failure analysis and fixes.
Requirements
Must-have technical skills and experience.
- Extensive embedded hardware/firmware engineering experience; the listing cites ~6+ years.
- Expertise in C for low-level programming; familiarity with assembly and C/assembly interworking.
- Working knowledge of ARM SoC architecture, multicore/multiprocessor designs, SMP/MTE and heterogeneous cores.
- Python and test-automation programming experience; bash scripting and software application development.
- Experience with remote debugging (JTAG), and customization of compiler/linker toolchains.
- Familiarity with boot process, MMU/SMMU page-table configuration, and OS/RTOS/Linux kernel internals.
- Experience with emulation/pre-silicon environments, FPGA bring-up, or DFT/modem characterization is a plus.
- Desired: knowledge of interconnects, power management, power/performance KPIs, and performance tuning for multithreaded applications.
Education Requirements
Requires a technical degree: Bachelor's, Master's or PhD in Computer Science, Electrical/Electronics Engineering, Computer Engineering, Information Systems, or related fields. The posting specifies degree-based equivalencies (Bachelor's + ~3+ years, Master's + ~2+ years, PhD + ~1+ year) and elsewhere cites ~6+ years embedded hardware engineering experience; equivalent practical experience is acceptable where noted.
