SoC RTL Design Engineer
Intel CorporationJob Title
SoC RTL Design Engineer
Role Summary
Implement and integrate RTL for high-performance IPs within client SoCs, focusing on functionality, quality, and integration across the chip. Work in Intel's Silicon and Platform Engineering Group (SPE) alongside verification, architecture, and cross-functional teams.
This position is eligible for Intel's hybrid work model (split between assigned Intel site and off-site). Primary locations: Penang and Kulim, Malaysia.
Experience Level
Entry-level - suitable for new college graduates or candidates with 0β1 years of hands-on experience in SoC RTL/logic design (internships, academic projects, or equivalent training).
Responsibilities
Primary responsibilities include:
- Develop and implement RTL design for internal IPs and integrate high-performance, bandwidth IPs into SoCs.
- Collaborate with verification teams to support functional, feature, and integration validation.
- Perform front-end quality checks: RTL static analysis, synthesizability assessment, timing and power convergence, netlist quality checks, and functional equivalence verification.
- Work with design teams and architects to ensure functional integrity and overall chip quality.
- Participate in cross-functional reviews and propose optimizations to improve performance and design efficiency.
Requirements
Must-have skills and experience:
- Proficiency in RTL languages such as SystemVerilog.
- Familiarity with verification methodologies (OVM/UVM).
- Basic understanding of digital design concepts: timing analysis, power optimization, and synthesis techniques.
- Hands-on experience via internships, academic projects, coursework, or hands-on training in SoC RTL/logic design.
Nice-to-have:
- Experience with logic design, IP integration, or pre-silicon validation environments.
- Familiarity with RTL simulation, synthesis, and static timing analysis tools.
- Strong problem-solving and communication skills.
Education Requirements
Bachelor's degree in Electrical and Electronics Engineering, Computer Engineering, Computer Science, or a related field; OR a Master's degree in the same fields with no prior professional experience. The posting accepts internships, academic projects, or equivalent hands-on training as relevant experience for entry-level candidates.
