Work with cross-functional hardware, software and system teams to translate system requirements into implementable architectures and silicon.
Experience Level
Entry-level / Early career. Typical posting guidance: 1β2 years of relevant ASIC/SoC engineering experience depending on degree level.
Responsibilities
Primary responsibilities include:
- Define and model IP and power architectures; create circuit specifications and logic designs.
- Perform system simulations and analyze timing and power trade-offs.
- Develop and execute RTL-to-GDS implementation flows; support synthesis, place-and-route, timing closure and power optimization.
- Use EDA tools (for example RTL flows and Virtuoso) and scripting to implement and validate designs.
- Collaborate with software, hardware architecture, verification and validation teams to deliver silicon that meets system requirements.
- Produce detailed technical documentation for EDA/IP/ASIC projects.
Requirements
Must-have technical skills and experience:
- Hands-on experience in architecture and block/SoC design and optimization for performance and power.
- Familiarity with RTL-to-GDS flows, Virtuoso or equivalent EDA tool flows.
- Proficiency in scripting and programming for EDA automation and verification tasks.
- Knowledge of design verification methods and ability to support verification activities.
- Strong technical writing and cross-functional collaboration skills.
Nice-to-have:
- Experience with system-level architecture, place-and-route, and power/timing analysis.
- Experience across both digital and analog design domains.
Education Requirements
Posting specifies: Bachelor's degree in Science, Engineering, or related field with ~2 years relevant experience; OR a Master's degree with ~1 year experience; OR a PhD in a related field. Preferred fields: Electrical/Electronic Engineering, Computer Engineering, or Computer Science. The posting allows equivalent practical experience.
