Job Title

SoC Performance Analysis Engineer

Role Summary

Join the Cloud-AI System Performance Analysis team to investigate system-level performance of pre-silicon Arm-based SoC platforms. Use simulation and hardware emulation to identify bottlenecks and drive architectural and RTL improvements across CPU, memory, interconnect and I/O subsystems.

Experience Level

Mid-level (minimum 3 years professional experience).

Responsibilities

Perform system-level performance investigations and collaborate with architecture, design and verification teams to improve SoC behaviour.

  • Run performance experiments on pre-silicon platforms using simulation and hardware emulation.
  • Bring up and debug complex workloads on future SoCs.
  • Analyze CPU, interconnect, memory subsystem and I/O performance under realistic workloads.
  • Identify and root-cause system-level performance bottlenecks.
  • Develop and execute benchmarks, tests and analysis flows.
  • Investigate interactions between multiple IPs and system components.
  • Contribute tooling and automation to improve debug and analysis efficiency.
  • Present findings and technical recommendations to engineering teams.

Requirements

Must-have technical skills and experience for this role.

  • Minimum of 3 years professional experience in performance analysis, system investigation, or low-level debugging.
  • Strong understanding of computer and system architecture.
  • Good knowledge of memory systems, cache coherency and interconnect architectures.
  • Familiarity with pre-silicon environments (simulation and/or hardware emulation).
  • Experience with scripting or programming (Python, Ruby, C, C++).
  • Experience working in Unix/Linux and with source control (e.g. Git).
  • Strong analytical, problem-solving, communication and collaboration skills.

Nice-to-have:

  • Familiarity with Arm architectures and CPU instruction sets.
  • Understanding of multiprocessor systems and coherency protocols.
  • Experience with Verilog/SystemVerilog, performance profiling tools, low-level software or firmware, or hardware emulation platforms.
  • Experience with networking or server workloads and strong root-cause debugging skills.

Education Requirements

Not specified.
