SoC Manager, Performance Verification - Networking group
NVIDIAJob Title
SoC Manager, Performance Verification - Networking group
Role Summary
Manage and provide technical leadership for the SoC performance verification team responsible for NVIDIA’s next-generation DPUs and SmartNICs. Own end-to-end pre-silicon performance signoff for the SoC and coordinate across architecture, microarchitecture, IP, integration, and program management.
This is a hands-on management role focused on building a high-performing verification organization, executing performance test strategies, and delivering silicon-quality performance signoff.
Experience Level
Senior - typically 10+ years in ASIC/SoC verification with 3+ years in people management or technical leadership overseeing multiple engineers.
Responsibilities
Lead the team and drive technical execution for full-chip NIC performance verification and associated infrastructure.
- Lead, mentor, hire, and grow a team of verification engineers; define team structure and career development paths.
- Define and execute SoC performance verification strategy and test plans for NIC/DPU/SmartNIC designs.
- Architect and implement reusable testbench infrastructure and targeted performance test scenarios.
- Build tools and infrastructure for performance debugging and efficient verification flows.
- Collaborate with architecture, microarchitecture, IP, SoC integration, and program management to identify and mitigate performance bottlenecks.
- Use advanced verification methodologies and tools (Specman/e, SystemVerilog, UVM) for coverage-driven signoff.
- Establish and improve verification methodologies, best practices, and AI-enabled workflows to raise team productivity and design quality.
- Communicate technical status, risks, and trade-offs to engineering leadership and cross-functional partners.
Requirements
Must-have skills and experience for immediate effectiveness; "Nice-to-have" items that strengthen candidacy are listed separately.
- Must-have: 10+ years of ASIC/SoC verification experience, including experience with full-chip performance verification.
- Must-have: 3+ years in a people management or technical leadership role overseeing multiple engineers.
- Must-have: Strong knowledge of verification methodologies: UVM, constrained-random, and coverage-driven techniques.
- Must-have: Strong digital design fundamentals and RTL experience (Verilog/SystemVerilog).
- Must-have: Experience with EDA simulation and debugging tools.
- Must-have: Demonstrated ability to balance resources, schedules, and quality trade-offs across SoC projects.
- Must-have: Clear technical communication with engineering leadership and cross-functional teams.
- Nice-to-have: Experience verifying performance of complex designs and networking-related domains.
- Nice-to-have: Experience building verification infrastructure: regression frameworks, coverage automation, or CI/CD for hardware.
- Nice-to-have: Hands-on experience developing agentic workflows or AI-enabled processes to improve team productivity.
Education Requirements
B.Sc. or M.Sc. in Electrical Engineering or Computer Engineering, or equivalent practical experience.
