SoC Logic Design Engineer

Role Summary

Design, integrate, and validate digital logic and IP for System-on-Chip (SoC) products. Work with architects, IP providers, and verification teams to deliver production-ready SoC blocks that meet power, performance, area, and timing objectives.

Experience Level

Mid-level. Typical qualifications per posting: Bachelor's +4 years, Master's +3 years, or PhD +6 months of relevant RTL/SoC design experience.

Responsibilities

Core responsibilities include RTL implementation, IP integration, and ensuring design readiness for silicon.

• Develop RTL (SystemVerilog) and run simulations for SoC components.
• Collaborate with architects to define and implement microarchitecture features.
• Integrate and validate IP blocks and subsystems into full-chip SoC designs.
• Optimize designs for power, performance, area, and timing; support physical implementation flow.
• Review verification plans, investigate RTL test failures, and implement corrective actions.
• Apply secure development practices and support quality-assurance processes for IP-to-SoC handoffs.

Requirements

Must-have technical skills and experience.

• RTL development and SystemVerilog experience; hands-on SoC logic integration.
• Microarchitecture definition, logic design, and simulation skills.
• Experience with SoC design methodologies, including timing and power convergence and physical implementation.

Nice-to-have:

• Scripting (Python, Perl, or similar).
• Experience with front-end RTL tools: Lint, CDC, Synthesis, Static Timing Analysis (STA).
• Validation development, pre-silicon testing, and DFT/DFD experience.
• Familiarity with industry-standard IPs, on-chip fabrics, and UVM-based verification.

Education Requirements

Bachelor's degree in Electrical Engineering, Computer Engineering, or a related field plus 4+ years relevant experience; OR Master's in those fields plus 3+ years; OR PhD in those fields plus 6+ months.
