SoC Logic Design Engineer
Role Summary
Work on RTL design, integration, and validation of logic for complex System-on-Chip (SoC) architectures within Intel's Technology Development Group. The role focuses on delivering reliable RTL that meets power, performance, area, and timing targets and on collaborating with IP providers and cross-functional teams to integrate and verify SoC features.
Experience Level
Mid-level — guidance: typically 2–4+ years depending on degree (see education section for exact experience equivalencies).
Responsibilities
Key responsibilities include:
- Develop RTL and integrate logic components into SoC architectures.
- Perform simulations and quality checks to ensure reliability and conformance to power, performance, area, and timing goals.
- Collaborate with IP providers to integrate and validate IPs at the SoC level.
- Review verification plans and implement corrective actions for failing RTL tests.
- Optimize logic designs using advanced methodologies, tools, and design strategies.
- Work within a hybrid model, splitting time between the assigned Intel site and remote work.
Requirements
Must-have technical skills and experience:
- Proficiency in RTL coding and logic design, with strong SystemVerilog skills.
- Hands-on experience with digital design fundamentals and SoC integration.
- Familiarity with scripting for design automation (Perl, TCL).
- Practical experience with synthesizable Verilog/SystemVerilog and simulation tools.
- Strong analytical and problem-solving skills and clear, proactive communication.
Preferred:
- Experience with timing and power convergence tools and methodologies.
- Knowledge of design closure techniques for advanced nodes (e.g., 10nm or below).
Education Requirements
Bachelor's degree in Electrical Engineering, Computer Engineering, or a related field with 3+ years of relevant experience; OR Master's degree with 2+ years of experience; OR PhD (no prior professional experience required). The posting also permits equivalent practical experience where applicable.
