Job Title

SoC Logic Design Engineer

Role Summary

Join the SoC Logic Design Engineering team within Intel's Xeon Engineering Group to design and integrate SoC components and IP for next-generation Xeon server products. You will implement RTL, integrate IP blocks, and work with validation, physical design, and architecture teams to meet performance, power, and timing goals.

This role supports a hybrid work model and contributes to server SoC development for enterprise computing.

Experience Level

Entry-level β€” 0–1 years of hands-on experience (college graduate / early career).

Responsibilities

Primary responsibilities include RTL development, integration, verification support, and cross-team collaboration.

  • Develop and optimize RTL designs for SoC components using SystemVerilog.
  • Integrate IP blocks and subsystems into full-chip SoCs, ensuring architectural accuracy and smooth handoffs.
  • Perform quality checks to meet timing, power, performance, and area targets.
  • Resolve RTL test failures and implement corrective fixes to ensure feature correctness.
  • Collaborate with validation teams to identify and debug issues in SoC RTL and tiles.
  • Coordinate with physical design and architecture teams to align design and implementation objectives.
  • Apply secure development practices to mitigate security threats in the design.
  • Use scripting and automation to improve design workflows and efficiency.

Requirements

Must-have technical skills and experience for immediate contribution.

  • Proficiency in SystemVerilog for RTL design and logic development.
  • Hands-on experience or exposure to SoC RTL design, integration, or validation (0–1 years acceptable).
  • Experience with Synopsys tools (examples: VCS/ModelSim, Design Compiler, Spyglass, linting tools).
  • Familiarity with scripting languages such as Perl, Tcl, Python, or C++ for automation and tooling.

Nice-to-have:

  • Coursework or academic projects in IC/SoC design and integration.
  • Knowledge of low-power design techniques and clock domain crossing.
  • Strong problem-solving and ability to work across diverse teams.

Education Requirements

Bachelor's degree in Electrical Engineering, Computer Engineering, or Computer Science (with 0–1 years of hands-on SoC logic experience via internships, projects, or coursework) OR Master's degree in Electrical Engineering, Computer Engineering, or Computer Science with no prior professional experience. Academic coursework and projects in IC/SoC design are explicitly referenced as relevant. Equivalent practical experience is considered where noted.
