SoC / IP Architect

Role Summary

Responsible for defining SoC and IP architecture and translating product and customer requirements into detailed technical specifications. The role leads cross-functional teams to deliver integrated, scalable SoC implementations.

Works at the intersection of hardware, firmware and software with emphasis on performance, power, area trade-offs and system-level integration for advanced SoCs.

Experience Level

Senior — typically 3+ years in SoC architectural roles.

Responsibilities

Key responsibilities include:

• Define overall SoC/IP architecture and produce detailed architecture specifications and interfaces.
• Lead architectural reviews and technical discussions with design, verification, firmware and physical design teams.
• Drive system-level integration, including control paths, interrupt schemes, and debug infrastructure.
• Analyze and balance performance, power, and area trade-offs to meet product requirements.
• Collaborate with software teams to ensure hardware-software co-design and integration.
• Drive architectural decisions that optimize scalability and readiness for next-generation applications.

Requirements

Must-have skills and experience:

• 3+ years experience in SoC architectural roles.
• Strong understanding of SoC design flows and system requirements.
• Experience with power and performance analysis and trade-off decisions.
• Strong system-thinking ability across micro-architecture and system levels.
• Proven experience collaborating across hardware and software teams.
• Experience defining and documenting architecture specifications, interfaces, and integration flows.
• Excellent communication and collaboration skills; ability to lead cross-functional discussions and influence stakeholders.
• Nice-to-have: experience as a Functional Safety manager.

Education Requirements

B.Sc. or M.Sc. in Electrical Engineering, Computer Engineering, Computer Science, or a related technical field.
