SoC Engineering Senior Manager
Role Summary
Lead Synopsys' SoC implementation organization in Vietnam, providing technical direction and people leadership for advanced ASIC/SoC projects from synthesis through tapeout. The role coordinates delivery, methodology, and signoff activities while partnering with customers and global R&D teams.
This position focuses on execution quality, engineering process improvement, and developing a scalable, high-performing implementation team.
Experience Level
Senior — requires 12+ years of ASIC/SoC implementation experience and proven leadership of large engineering teams.
Responsibilities
Accountable for technical delivery, team leadership, and stakeholder collaboration across SoC implementation projects.
- Provide technical direction across the full implementation flow: synthesis, timing constraints, low-power verification, physical implementation, STA, timing closure, and signoff.
- Resolve escalated technical issues and establish robust signoff and validation methodologies to improve quality and predictability.
- Define and evolve implementation methodologies, automation, and engineering best practices to increase productivity and reduce risk.
- Hire, coach, mentor, and manage a large team of implementation engineers and technical leads; own performance management and career development.
- Partner with customers, business units, and global R&D to align delivery with business priorities, manage program risks, and provide technical guidance.
- Drive continuous improvement in design quality, signoff excellence, and organizational capability building.
Requirements
Must-have technical skills, experience, and leadership capabilities.
- Extensive hands-on experience delivering complex ASIC/SoC designs from synthesis through tapeout.
- Strong expertise in synthesis, timing-constraint development and debug, STA, timing closure, and signoff.
- Experience with implementation quality and signoff flows, including low-power verification, Formality, and GCA checks.
- Knowledge of advanced implementation/signoff concepts: MMMC analysis, signal integrity, power integrity, extraction, and physical verification.
- Hands-on experience with Synopsys implementation and signoff tools such as Fusion Compiler, ICC2, PrimeTime, StarRC, ICV, VCLP, and Formality.
- Strong scripting and automation skills (TCL, Perl, Python, or similar).
- Proven record of leading and developing large engineering teams; strong coaching, stakeholder management, and communication skills.
- Excellent verbal and written English.
Education Requirements
BS, MS, or PhD in Electronics Engineering, Electrical Engineering, Telecommunications, Electromechanics, or a related discipline.
