SoC Design Verification Lead
Role Summary
Lead SoC design verification architecture and infrastructure to ensure verification completeness for AMD SoC products. Drive verification methodology, testbench architecture, and cross-functional execution while managing schedule and cost.
AMD develops processors and platforms for high-performance computing, cloud, and AI.
Experience Level
Senior-level. Multiple years of project execution and design verification strategy experience preferred.
Responsibilities
Primary responsibilities include defining verification architecture, providing technical direction, and coordinating across domains:
- Define SoC testbench architecture and verification specifications for SoC and IP blocks.
- Align hardware, firmware, and modeling approaches for system-level verification.
- Work with IP/domain architects to identify and mitigate complex technical risks.
- Drive verification infrastructure, methodology, and toolchain improvements.
- Provide technical direction to execution teams and manage schedule/cost tradeoffs.
- Support post-silicon validation, DFT, and performance teams.
- Mentor engineers and promote knowledge sharing and automation efforts.
Requirements
Required and preferred technical skills and experience:
- Proven experience leading SoC DV architecture, methodology, and verification strategy.
- Strong foundation in Systems & SoC architecture; expertise in one or more areas such as CPU/GPU, memory subsystems, fabrics, coherency, multimedia, I/O, clocks/resets, virtualization, or security.
- Demonstrated expertise in testbench architecture and verification methodology (UVM, SystemVerilog).
- Programming proficiency in C++ and SystemVerilog; experience with vendor tools and diagnosing DV infrastructure issues.
- Familiarity with AI-assisted development tools (e.g., GitHub Copilot) is a plus.
- Excellent communication, presentation, and cross-team collaboration skills; experience mentoring senior engineers and briefing executives.
- Accountability for schedule and cost management in DV projects.
- Position is not eligible for visa sponsorship.
Education Requirements
Bachelor's or Master’s degree in a related discipline preferred.
