Job Title

SoC Design Verification Engineer

Role Summary

Join AMD's SoC verification team to develop and maintain functional and performance verification at core and system-on-chip (SoC) levels. You will build and extend testbench components, improve test libraries, and work with cross-site teams to close verification quality metrics.

Location: San Jose, CA. Work on verification for next-generation high-performance processors.

Responsibilities

The Verification Engineer will:

  • Develop and maintain tests for functional and performance verification at core and SoC levels.
  • Design and implement testbench components to support next-generation IP.
  • Maintain and improve test libraries for IP-level testing.
  • Monitor and close verification quality metrics such as pass rates, code coverage, and functional coverage.
  • Provide technical support and collaborate with other engineering teams across sites and time zones.

Requirements

  • Must: Strong coding experience with Verilog/SystemVerilog and UVM for verification.
  • Must: Proficiency in C/C++ and scripting languages such as Python or Perl.
  • Must: Good understanding of digital design, verification methodology, and design/verification flows.
  • Must: Strong analytical and problem-solving skills, attention to detail, and effective written/verbal communication.
  • Must: Ability to collaborate with distributed teams and provide technical support across sites/time zones.
  • Nice-to-have: Familiarity with SoC and computer architecture, especially CPU/DSP processors.
  • Nice-to-have: Prior experience with industry-standard protocols such as AXI, AHB, PCIe, DDR.
  • Constraint: This role is not eligible for visa sponsorship; candidates must be authorized to work in the United States.

Education Requirements

Bachelor's or Master's degree in Computer Engineering or Electrical Engineering.
