SOC Design Verification Engineer
Role Summary
Join the Data Center SoC Verification team to verify next-generation SoCs for AI, HPC, and cloud infrastructure. Work with architects, designers, software, and verification specialists to develop verification plans and ensure first-silicon success for complex SoC designs.
Experience Level
Mid-level. The posting requests a minimum of ~2+ years verification experience; senior roles may be offered to candidates with extensive expertise.
Responsibilities
Deliver verification solutions and drive closure for SoC, subsystem, and IP features.
- Develop and execute verification plans for SoC, subsystems, and IP.
- Design and implement SystemVerilog/UVM and processor-based verification environments.
- Create directed and constrained-random tests, assertions, coverage models, and checkers.
- Debug RTL, testbench, and integration issues; work with design teams to resolve defects.
- Drive coverage closure using functional and code coverage metrics.
- Participate in architecture and design reviews to capture verification requirements early.
- Verify features such as multi-core CPUs, cache coherency, memory subsystems (DDR/HBM), PCIe/CXL/Ethernet, security, RAS, and power-management.
- Support emulation/acceleration and contribute to methodology, automation, and reusable components.
Requirements
Must-have technical skills and experience; preferred items listed below.
- Strong practical experience with SystemVerilog and UVM.
- Proficiency in C and experience with assertion-based verification (SVA) and coverage-driven verification.
- Experience developing verification environments from architecture/specification through signoff.
- Solid understanding of computer architecture and digital design fundamentals.
- Experience debugging complex SoC-level issues and collaborating across teams.
- Good communication and teamwork skills.
Nice-to-have / preferred:
- CPU verification, cache-coherency protocols (ACE, CHI, CXL), AI/ML accelerator verification.
- DDR/HBM, PCIe, Ethernet, networking protocols, security, RAS, system performance or power verification.
- Portable Stimulus (PSS), formal verification, emulation platforms (Veloce/Palladium/ZeBu), ATE/post-silicon bring-up.
- Python or other scripting for automation; AI-assisted verification workflows.
Education Requirements
Bachelor's or master's degree in Electrical Engineering, Computer Engineering, Computer Science, or a related field is specified. Minimum qualifications: Bachelor's + 2+ years of ASIC design/verification/validation/integration experience; OR Master's + 1+ year; OR a PhD in a related field.
