Job Title

SoC Design Verification Engineer

Role Summary

Plan, build, and execute pre-silicon verification for SoC features at block, full-chip, multi-chip and system levels. Collaborate with architects, hardware and firmware engineers to validate functionality, coverage, and interactions and ensure designs are bug-free before tape-out.

Experience Level

Senior-level - typically 8+ years of ASIC design verification experience.

Responsibilities

Primary responsibilities include planning verification, developing tests and testbenches, executing simulations, and driving closure of issues.

  • Collaborate with architects, hardware and firmware engineers to define verification scope and interactions.
  • Create detailed test plans covering hardware, firmware and driver use cases.
  • Estimate effort for test development and required environment changes.
  • Develop directed and constrained-random tests and UVM testbenches.
  • Run simulations and debug failures to determine root cause; coordinate fixes with RTL and firmware teams.
  • Monitor functional and code coverage; modify or add tests to meet coverage goals.
  • Automate verification workflows and improve simulation efficiency in distributed compute environments.

Requirements

Must-have technical skills and tools; concise list of desirable extras.

  • Proven ASIC design verification experience and strong understanding of SoC architecture.
  • Excellent debugging skills in functional simulation environments.
  • Experience developing and using UVM testbenches and verification flows.
  • Proficient with Verilog and SystemVerilog; experience with C and C++ for test/firmware interaction.
  • Familiarity with SystemC.
  • Experience working in Linux and Windows environments.
  • Scripting for automation (Perl, Python, Makefile, shell).
  • Experience automating workflows on distributed compute systems.
  • Nice-to-have: simulation profiling/acceleration, HLS tools/process, hardware security verification, SoC boot flow verification, and leadership or mentorship experience.

Education Requirements

Bachelor's or Master's degree in Computer Engineering or Electrical Engineering.
