Job Title

SOC Design Verification Engineer

Role Summary

Join an ASIC/SoC engineering team responsible for block- and SoC-level design verification for high-performance, low-power products. The role supports architecture, design verification, and implementation flows across RTL-to-GDS and custom layout environments.

This is a hands-on engineering position that collaborates with architects, designers, and EDA teams to verify functionality, performance, timing, and power of IP and SoC blocks.

Experience Level

Entry-level / Early Career. Preferred experience includes at least several months of exposure to architecture/design tools, scripting/programming, and design verification methods; previous hires commonly have 2–4 years of relevant industry or internship experience.

Responsibilities

Primary duties include supporting verification and implementation activities across IP and SoC blocks.

  • Support creation and execution of verification plans and testbenches for block/SoC IP.
  • Assist in defining architectures, circuit/logic specifications, and system simulations from system requirements.
  • Use RTL-to-GDS and EDA flows to exercise the design and verification flow (synthesis, place & route, timing and power analysis).
  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams to develop implementation strategies that meet system and customer requirements.
  • Document verification results, issues, and design artifacts; write technical documentation for EDA/IP/ASIC projects.
  • Participate in reviews, debug sessions, and iterations to close verification and implementation tasks.

Requirements

Must-have technical skills and experience for day-one contributions.

  • Practical experience with design verification methods and testbench development (preferred: several months+).
  • Experience with scripting or programming languages used in verification flows (e.g., Python, Tcl, Perl, or similar).
  • Familiarity with RTL-to-GDS flows and common EDA tools; knowledge of custom layout tools such as Virtuoso is a plus.
  • Ability to read and interpret system-level requirements and translate them into verification tasks.
  • Basic debugging skills and ability to analyze simulation and tool output to identify root causes.
  • Clear verbal and written communication to report results and collaborate across teams.
  • Nice-to-have: exposure to computer architecture, C/C++, automation frameworks, and prior ASIC/SoC verification projects.

Education Requirements

Required: Bachelor’s degree in Science, Engineering, or a related field. Preferred: Master’s degree in Electrical/Electronic Engineering, Computer Engineering, or Computer Science. The posting does not list certifications; relevant practical experience in place of advanced degrees is commonly considered.
