SoC Design Verification Engineer
Intel CorporationJob Title
SoC Design Verification Engineer
Role Summary
Join a product development team responsible for designing and verifying advanced System-on-Chip (SoC) solutions. The role focuses on creating scalable verification plans, building UVM-based test environments, executing presilicon verification (simulation and emulation), and collaborating with architects, RTL, postsilicon and physical design teams to ensure functional correctness and performance.
Experience Level
Senior β the posting specifies experience expectations of roughly 6β7+ years (7+ years with a Bachelor's degree or 6+ years with a Master's degree).
Responsibilities
Primary responsibilities include designing verification infrastructure and executing verification activities across block, subsystem, and SoC levels.
- Define and develop scalable, reusable verification plans for block, subsystem, and SoC levels.
- Create and maintain UVM-based test benches and test cases aligned to microarchitecture specifications.
- Execute verification plans using simulation and emulation to validate design functionality and uncover bugs.
- Debug and root-cause presilicon failures; implement corrective measures.
- Collaborate with architects, RTL developers, postsilicon teams, and physical design teams to close verification gaps.
- Document and maintain test plans and drive technical reviews with design and architecture teams.
- Integrate security coverage and regression/debug tests into verification activities.
- Maintain and improve functional verification infrastructure and methodologies.
- Incorporate postsilicon learnings into presilicon verification strategies.
Requirements
Must-have technical skills and proven hands-on verification experience.
- Hands-on SoC design verification experience with practical UVM/OVM methodology expertise.
- Creation and maintenance of UVM-based test benches and test-case development.
- Experience with AMBA protocols (CHI, AXI, AHB, APB) and industry-standard VIP from EDA vendors.
- Proven debugging and root-cause analysis skills in presilicon environments.
- Experience executing verification on emulation and system simulation platforms.
- Ability to define and implement scalable verification plans and verification infrastructure improvements.
- Strong collaboration and communication skills to work across interdisciplinary teams.
- Nice-to-have: postsilicon validation experience and familiarity with emulation models and system simulation tools for performance analysis.
Education Requirements
Minimum: Bachelor's degree in Electrical Engineering, Computer Engineering, Computer Science, or a related field with 7+ years of hands-on SoC verification experience; OR Master's degree in Electrical Engineering, Computer Engineering, Computer Science, or a related field with 6+ years of hands-on SoC verification experience.
