Job Title

SOC Design Verification Engineer

Role Summary

Work on SoC functional verification to ensure correctness, performance, and security of complex system-on-chip designs. The role sits within a central engineering verification team and partners with architects, RTL designers, postsilicon teams, and physical design to deliver validated silicon.

Responsibilities

Core responsibilities for this role include planning, executing, and improving SoC verification activities.

  • Develop scalable, reusable block/subsystem/SoC verification plans, testbenches, and environments from microarchitecture specifications.
  • Implement and run simulation and emulation models; execute verification plans and analyze power and performance metrics.
  • Debug presilicon issues, perform root-cause analysis, and implement corrective actions for failing tests.
  • Collaborate with architects, microarchitects, RTL developers, postsilicon, and physical design teams to verify complex architectural features.
  • Lead technical reviews of test plans and proofs to ensure alignment and coverage.
  • Include security validation in test plans (regression and debug coverage).
  • Improve functional verification infrastructure and methodologies; incorporate postsilicon lessons into updated test plans.

Requirements

Must-have technical skills and experience; preferred items noted separately.

  • Proficiency in SystemVerilog and simulation-based verification methodologies (OVM/UVM).
  • Experience developing SoC test environments and verification components.
  • Strong hardware design knowledge: logic design, simulation, validation, and debugging.
  • Proven experience creating and executing SoC/IP verification plans and test environments.
  • Analytical problem-solving to identify and resolve complex design issues.
  • Preferred: experience collaborating across architecture, design, and postsilicon teams; strong verbal and written communication; ability to lead technical reviews and work independently.

Education Requirements

Bachelor's degree in Electrical Engineering, Computer Engineering, Computer Science, or a related field (posted requirement: Bachelor's + 20 years relevant experience) or Master's degree in a related field (posted requirement: Master's + 18 years relevant experience).
