Job Title

SOC Design Verification Engineer

Role Summary

Work on verification of SoC/IP within the ASICs Engineering team in San Diego, contributing to architecture, design, implementation and verification of blocks and system-on-chip products.

Role focuses on applying ASIC knowledge to assist with modeling, verification, and documentation to deliver high-performance, low-power IP and SoCs.

Experience Level

Entry-level. Preferred ~6+ months relevant experience with architecture/design tools, scripting/programming, and verification methods.

Responsibilities

Key responsibilities include supporting design verification and implementation activities for IP and SoC projects.

  • Contribute to creation of architectures, circuit specifications, and logic designs based on system requirements.
  • Develop and execute verification plans and testbenches for block/SoC verification.
  • Use EDA flows (RTL-to-GDS, synthesis, place-and-route, timing and power analysis) and tools such as Virtuoso as required.
  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams to define implementation strategies that meet system and customer needs.
  • Support evaluation of design flow and verification coverage from design through sign-off.
  • Produce technical documentation for EDA/IP/ASIC projects.
  • Communicate findings and status to supervisors and team members.

Requirements

  • Familiarity with ASIC/SoC design and verification concepts.
  • Basic experience with scripting and programming for verification tasks.
  • Ability to work with EDA tools and standard SoC implementation flows.
  • Clear verbal and written communication skills.
  • Works effectively under supervision and follows defined processes.
  • Nice-to-have: prior exposure (~6+ months) to architecture/design tools and formal design verification methods.

Education Requirements

Required: Bachelor's degree in Science, Engineering, or a related field. Preferred: Master's degree in Electrical/Electronic Engineering, Computer Engineering, or Computer Science. No certifications specified.
