Job Title

SOC Design Verification Engineer

Role Summary

Join Qualcomm's Data Center SoC Verification team to verify next-generation SoCs used in AI, high-performance computing, and cloud infrastructure. Collaborate with architects, design and software teams to create scalable verification solutions, drive verification closure, and support first-silicon success for complex SoC designs.

Experience Level

Mid-level — typically requires 2+ years of design verification experience. Senior consideration available for candidates with extensive expertise.

Responsibilities

Core responsibilities include planning, implementing, and executing verification strategies for SoC and subsystem features.

  • Develop and execute verification plans for SoC, subsystem, and IP-level features.
  • Design and implement SystemVerilog/UVM and processor-based verification environments.
  • Create directed and constrained-random tests, assertions, and functional coverage models.
  • Debug RTL, testbench, and integration issues and work with design teams to resolve defects.
  • Drive coverage closure using functional and code coverage metrics.
  • Participate in architecture and design reviews to capture verification requirements early.
  • Verify complex SoC features (multi-core CPUs, cache coherency, memory subsystems, PCIe/CXL/Ethernet, security, RAS, power management).
  • Support emulation/acceleration and contribute to verification methodology, automation, and reusable components.

Requirements

Must-have skills and experience; preferred items listed separately.

Must-have:

  • Minimum 2+ years of design verification experience (ASIC/SoC verification).
  • Strong experience with SystemVerilog and UVM; knowledge of Assertion-Based Verification (SVA) and coverage-driven verification.
  • Proficiency in C and strong scripting/automation ability; Python proficiency preferred.
  • Experience developing verification environments from specification through signoff and debugging complex SoC-level issues.
  • Solid understanding of computer architecture and digital design fundamentals; good communication and collaboration skills.

Preferred / Nice-to-have:

  • Experience with CPU verification, cache coherency protocols (ACE/CHI/CXL), DDR/HBM memory systems, PCIe, Ethernet, or networking protocols.
  • AI/ML accelerator verification, security and RAS verification, system performance or power verification, ATE and post-silicon bring-up.
  • Experience with Portable Stimulus (PSS), formal verification, emulation platforms (Veloce/Palladium/ZeBu), or power-aware verification.
  • Experience with AI-assisted verification tools and full-chip or subsystem verification environments.

Education Requirements

Bachelor's, Master's, or PhD in Electrical Engineering, Computer Engineering, Computer Science, Science, Engineering, or a related technical field. The posting allows equivalent practical experience per minimum qualifications (e.g., Bachelor’s + 2+ years, Master’s + 1+ year, or PhD as listed).
