SoC Design Verification Engineer
Role Summary
Verify Arm-based IPs, subsystems, and SoCs by developing scalable verification solutions, owning end-to-end verification execution, and contributing to SoC verification methodologies and automation.
Work within the Solutions SoC Engineering team to ensure functional correctness, coverage closure, and integration across architecture, design, firmware, emulation, FPGA, and post-silicon validation stages.
Experience Level
Mid-level; typically 2β4 years of IP, subsystem, or SoC verification experience.
Responsibilities
Primary responsibilities focus on planning and executing verification activities for IP, subsystem, and SoC designs and improving verification infrastructure.
- Develop and execute verification strategies for IP, subsystem, and SoC designs.
- Verify CPU, PCIe, DDR, security, coherency, memory subsystem, and interconnect functionality.
- Perform power-aware verification and system scenario/performance validation.
- Own verification deliverables from planning through closure, ensuring quality and schedule commitments are met.
- Architect, develop, and maintain reusable verification environments, VIPs, methodologies, and automation.
- Create verification plans, test cases, and coverage-closure strategies; drive functional, code, toggle, assertion, and coverage closure.
- Debug RTL, testbench, integration, and system-level issues and collaborate across architecture, design, firmware, emulation, FPGA, validation, and post-silicon teams.
- Leverage scripting, automation, and AI-assisted workflows to improve verification productivity.
Requirements
Core technical skills and practical verification experience required; preferred items listed separately.
Must-have:
- 2β4 years of IP, subsystem, or SoC verification experience.
- Strong Verilog, SystemVerilog, UVM and modern verification methodologies.
- Experience with Arm-based SoC architecture, coherency, interconnects, memory hierarchy, and UPF.
- Experience with C/C++ and scripting for testbench and automation.
- Proven RTL and testbench debug skills and experience with coverage closure.
- Good analytical, communication, and collaboration skills.
Nice-to-have:
- Experience with CHI, ACE, AMBA, PCIe, DDR, or security IP.
- Assembly programming, formal verification, emulation, FPGA, gate-level simulation, or post-silicon validation experience.
- Familiarity with AI-assisted verification workflows and globally distributed engineering.
Education Requirements
Bachelor's or Master's degree in a relevant engineering discipline (e.g., Electrical, Electronics, Computer Engineering or similar) is required.
