SOC Design - Sr Lead
QualcommJob Title
SOC Design - Sr Lead
Role Summary
Lead SoC/ASIC design for complex system-on-chip projects, focusing on logic/micro-architecture, RTL development, integration, and pre/post-silicon debug. Work within a hardware engineering team and coordinate with verification, validation, floorplanning, and timing teams to deliver production-ready silicon.
Experience Level
Senior β typically 8β11 years of ASIC/SoC design experience.
Responsibilities
Primary responsibilities include:
- Define and implement micro-architecture and RTL for SoC subsystems.
- Integrate complex IP and peripherals into the SoC, ensuring correct interfaces and timing.
- Collaborate with verification and validation teams for pre-silicon verification and post-silicon debug.
- Drive low-power design techniques and multi-clock/asynchronous interface solutions.
- Work with physical design and floorplanning teams on padring and chip-level integration.
- Contribute to constraint development, timing closure activities, and synthesis flows.
Requirements
Must-have and preferred technical skills:
- Must-have: Strong experience in logic design, micro-architecture, and RTL coding using Verilog/SystemVerilog.
- Must-have: Hands-on SoC design and integration experience for complex SoCs.
- Must-have: Knowledge of AMBA protocols (AXI, AHB, APB); SoC clocking, reset, and debug architectures; experience with peripherals such as USB, PCIe, and SD card controllers.
- Must-have: Practical experience with multi-clock domain designs and asynchronous interfaces.
- Must-have: Familiarity with ASIC toolflows and tools such as lint, CDC analysis, synthesis (Design Compiler), and PrimeTime.
- Nice-to-have: Understanding of memory controller designs and microprocessor subsystems.
- Nice-to-have: Experience with constraint development, timing closure, synthesis concepts, padring creation, and chip-level floorplanning.
- Strong oral and written communication skills; proactive and collaborative work style.
Education Requirements
Required: Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Electrical/Electronics Engineering, Engineering, or a related technical field. Preferred: Master's degree in a related field; PhD also considered. Minimum-qualification options per posting: Bachelor's +3 years relevant experience OR Master's +2 years OR PhD +1 year. Equivalent practical experience may be accepted.
