SoC Design Infrastructure Methodology Implementation Engineer

Role Summary

Responsible for developing and deploying an IP-Design Management Platform and associated methodology to support SoC/ASIC design teams. Work includes automating RTL-to-GDS flows, integrating silicon IP, and collaborating with EDA vendors and internal stakeholders to improve design efficiency and consistency.

Position is based in Austin, TX on a hybrid schedule and requires cross-team collaboration across sites and time zones.

Experience Level

Mid-level (experienced engineer). The posting targets a seasoned practitioner but does not specify numeric years of experience.

Responsibilities

Primary duties focus on platform development, methodology definition, and operational support.

• Design, implement, and deploy an IP-Design Management Platform for ASIC/SoC teams.
• Define and automate design methodology and best practices into repeatable flows.
• Collaborate with project teams to integrate the platform into milestone deliveries and silicon flows.
• Provide ongoing platform stewardship: maintenance, user support, and iterative improvements based on stakeholder feedback.
• Work with EDA vendors and internal teams to resolve tool, flow, and integration issues.

Requirements

Must-have technical skills and constraints; preferred items follow.

• Proven experience with RTL-to-GDS design flows and SoC/ASIC implementation.
• Experience with silicon IP integration and IP reuse at the SoC level.
• Scripting and automation skills (Python, Tcl, shell, Make, Ruby, Perl, or similar).
• Familiarity with version control and artifact management (Perforce, Git, Artifactory, or similar).
• Linux/Unix system administration and experience with silicon design environments.
• Experience working with EDA vendors and deploying EDA-based flows.
• Authorization to work in the United States; this role is not eligible for visa sponsorship.

Nice-to-have:

• Experience with silicon IP lifecycle management tools (Perforce IPLM, IC Manage IPC, or similar).
• Demonstrated use of AI productivity tools (ChatGPT, Claude, GitHub Copilot, or similar) to automate workflows and enhance productivity.

Education Requirements

Bachelor's or Master's degree in Computer Engineering or Electrical Engineering.
