Job Title
SOC Design Engineer
Role Summary
Design, integrate, and verify IP at the SoC level for embedded and FPGA-based solutions. The role covers IP definition, SoC integration and functional verification, board bring-up, and system-level debug in collaboration with software engineers.
Experience Level
Mid-level. Specific years of experience not specified.
Responsibilities
Primary responsibilities include defining IP for specific solutions, integrating and validating IP within SoC implementations, and supporting system bring-up and debugging.
- Gather domain-specific requirements and define/develop IP to meet those requirements.
- Integrate IPs into SoC and verify the implementation flow.
- Perform SoC-level functional verification and performance evaluation.
- Support board-level setup and initial SOC bring-up.
- Collaborate with software engineers for co-verification and system debug.
Requirements
Must-have technical skills are listed first; followed by preferred (nice-to-have) items.
-
Must-have: Familiarity with embedded/SoC design or digital/FPGA design.
- Proficient in Verilog and SystemVerilog.
- Experience with simulation tools such as Ncsim, ModelSim/QuestaSim.
- Familiar with system buses (AXI, AHB, Wishbone).
- Independent problem-solving ability.
- Strong written and verbal communication skills (English); ability to work across teams.
- Responsible and proactive work attitude.
-
Nice-to-have: Knowledge of RISC architectures and microarchitecture (RISC-V, ARM).
- Experience with peripheral or legacy IP (PCIe, SPI, I2C, UART).
- Embedded programming in C.
- Familiarity with FPGA design flow; prior FPGA-related design experience.
Education Requirements
Master's degree or above in Electrical Engineering, Computer Engineering, Computer Science, or a related technical field.
