Job Title

SOC Design Engineer, ASIC Tools and Methodology Development

Role Summary

Design and maintain in-house tools, workflows, and methodologies to support ASIC/SoC engineering teams. Own tool features and operations for automated RTL generation and verification of common design blocks used across products.

Experience Level

Mid-level. The posting prefers candidates with approximately 3+ years of relevant experience.

Responsibilities

Primary duties include developing and operating tools and integrating methodologies into IP development environments.

  • Develop and deploy in-house tools and workflows to support engineering business units.
  • Own and maintain tools that verify common design blocks used across NVIDIA products.
  • Act as a DevOps engineer for automated RTL generation: develop new features and maintain operations for users.
  • Build and integrate workflows and methodologies into varied IP development environments.

Requirements

Technical skills and attributes required or strongly preferred.

  • Solid understanding of digital design concepts with hands-on experience in Verilog.
  • Proficiency in scripting with modern Python and/or Perl.
  • Experience with Unix/Linux shell scripting and Makefiles.
  • Strong collaboration skills and ability to communicate technical details across teams.

Nice-to-have:

  • Prior experience in ASIC verification.
  • Knowledge of clocks/resets design and verification.
  • Exposure to CDC-related design/verification flows.
  • Exposure to backend flows (synthesis, timing, etc.).

Education Requirements

Bachelor's or Master’s degree in Electrical Engineering or Computer Engineering, or equivalent practical experience.
