SoC Debug/Telemetry Architect

Role Summary

Design and architect product-specific SoC debug, telemetry, and profiling features across a portfolio of SoCs. Work with design and verification engineers and cross-functional teams to define micro-architecture, enable silicon bring-up, and resolve in-silicon issues to deliver reliable chips to partners.

Experience Level

Senior. This role is for an experienced architect-level engineer (typically 7+ years in SoC, hardware design, or similar roles).

Responsibilities

Primary responsibilities include specifying, designing, and driving implementation of on-chip debug, telemetry, and profiling capabilities.

• Architect SoC debug, telemetry, and profiling features and interfaces across multiple product families.
• Define micro-architecture and collaborate with RTL designers and verification teams to realize designs.
• Support silicon bring-up; diagnose and prioritize in-silicon issues with cross-functional teams.
• Create clear specifications, design documentation, and acceptance criteria for debug/telemetry features.
• Work with software/firmware and tools teams to ensure visibility, data collection, and profiling workflows.
• Balance feature, performance, and area/power trade-offs for on-chip telemetry and debug blocks.

• Must-have: Practical experience supporting silicon bring-up and diagnosing in-silicon issues with design and verification teams.
• Must-have: Strong cross-functional collaboration and technical communication skills to work with RTL, verification, firmware, and tools teams.
• Nice-to-have: Familiarity with on-chip trace standards, debug protocols, performance counters, and telemetry data paths.
• Nice-to-have: Experience with verification strategies for debug/trace logic, and scripting or tooling for collecting and analyzing telemetry data.
