SoC Architect

Role Summary

The SoC Architect will define and architect high-volume system-on-chip (SoC) platforms across mobile, automotive, datacenter, networking and IoT market segments. This role partners with internal product and engineering teams and external partners to deliver production-quality silicon optimized for performance and power.

Experience Level

Senior β€” typically requires approximately 10+ years of experience in senior development or leadership roles within the semiconductor industry.

Responsibilities

Principal responsibilities include system architecture, cross-team coordination, and driving SoC platform delivery and innovation:

  • Architect and design Arm-based SoC platforms to meet performance, power, and market requirements.
  • Define and evolve platform roadmaps and system-level feature sets in coordination with architecture and core technology teams.
  • Collaborate with engineering teams to integrate Arm IP into SoCs and ensure learnings from SoC projects feed back into IP development.
  • Engage with partners and customers to drive architecture discussions, mature specifications, and support implementation teams.
  • Manage multiple partner engagements in parallel and scale SoC solutions across projects.
  • Drive continuous improvement, industry trend tracking, and innovation in SoC architecture, performance and power modeling.

  • Proven experience architecting scalable SoCs on leading-edge process nodes across multiple market segments.
  • Deep expertise in several of: heterogeneous compute architectures, power management, clocking, coherent/non-coherent interconnects, PCIe/CXL, multi-level cache design, profiling/debug, security/virtualization, memory hierarchies, advanced packaging (2.5D/3D), performance and power modeling, accelerators, and DRAM technologies.
  • Strong presentation, interpersonal and executive-level communication skills.
  • Demonstrated ability to influence cross-functional engineering and business stakeholders.
  • Track record delivering multiple complex projects to specification and schedule.

  • Experience operating in fast-paced environments with shifting priorities.
  • History of constructive challenge at senior levels and driving strategic change.

Education Requirements

Bachelor's or Master's degree in Electrical Engineering or Computer Engineering. The posting also specifies ~10 years of experience in a senior development or leadership position within the semiconductor industry.
