SoC Architect
Role Summary
Architect and design high-volume SoC platforms that integrate Arm product IP and system architecture across market segments including mobile, automotive, datacenter, networking and IoT. Work with internal architecture, core technology and software teams and with external partners to deliver production-quality silicon with strong performance and power efficiency.
Experience Level
Senior β the role expects substantial senior-level experience; the posting specifies approximately 10 years in a senior development or leadership position in the semiconductor industry.
Responsibilities
Primary responsibilities include:
- Define and develop SoC architectures using Arm IP to meet performance, power and platform targets.
- Coordinate roadmap and feature development across architecture and core technology teams.
- Collaborate with partners and internal teams to integrate Arm IP and ensure on-time delivery into production SoCs.
- Identify key use cases and representative workloads and drive partner/customer architecture discussions to mature specifications.
- Optimize end-to-end platform solutions with core, technology and software teams.
- Drive innovation, performance and power modeling, profiling and continuous improvement of SoC architectures.
- Manage multiple partner engagements in parallel and scale architecture work across teams.
Requirements
Must-have technical skills and professional abilities:
- Significant experience architecting scalable SoCs across multiple market segments.
- Expertise in several of: heterogeneous compute architectures; power management and clocking; coherent and non-coherent interconnects; PCIe/CXL; multi-level caching; profiling and debug; security and access control; virtualization; memory hierarchies; advanced packaging (2.5D/3D); performance and power modeling; soft real-time accelerators; DRAM technologies.
- Excellent presentation, interpersonal and communication skills; able to present at executive level.
- Proven ability to influence across engineering and business organizations and to drive execution and strategy.
Nice-to-have:
- Experience delivering multiple sophisticated projects to specification and on schedule in parallel.
- Comfort working in fast-paced environments with shifting priorities and the willingness to challenge the status quo constructively.
Education Requirements
Bachelor's or Master's degree in Electrical Engineering or Computer Engineering. The posting also specifies ~10 years of experience in a senior development or leadership position in the semiconductor industry.
