Design and validate ASIC/semiconductor components from architecture through physical implementation. Lead and execute silicon design, verification, and layout activities while coordinating with cross-functional engineering teams.

Work includes architecture definition, logic design, system simulation, physical implementation review (synthesis, place & route, timing, and power), and supporting tape-outs. Travel: No.

Experience Level

Mid-level. The position expects demonstrated industry experience in silicon/ASIC design and verification (role description specifies experience expectations tied to degree level).

Responsibilities

Primary responsibilities include:

  • Define architecture and module interfaces; perform logic design and system simulation.
  • Lead verification and documentation activities for ASIC projects.
  • Evaluate design flow from high-level design through synthesis, place & route, timing, and power analysis.
  • Drive physical layout discussions and collaborate on complex multidimensional IC layouts.
  • Support cross-functional teams to achieve successful tape-outs and project delivery.
  • Apply engineering judgment to select methods and criteria for technical problem solving with minimal supervision.

Requirements

Required technical skills and domain experience (must-haves):

  • Knowledge of Power Via and 3DStack concepts.
  • Experience supporting design teams through tape-outs.
  • Proficiency with layout editing tools such as Design REV or ICVWB.
  • Hardware verification experience and familiarity with ASIC design and verification flows.
  • Experience with CMOS transistor design and Back-End (physical design) EDA tools.
  • Familiarity with CAD tools and design flows used for chip verification.
  • Understanding of Linux or Windows internals.
  • Experience with code optimization using GPUs or software performance analysis.

Education Requirements

Master’s degree (or foreign equivalent) in Computer Engineering, Electrical Engineering, Electronics Engineering, or a related field is required. Alternatively, a Bachelor’s degree (or foreign equivalent) in those fields plus six years of progressive post-baccalaureate experience in the role or a closely related engineering role is acceptable.
