Job Title

Silicon Verification Engineer

Role Summary

As an entry-level verification engineer on the DDR PHY IP development team, you will develop UVM-based verification environments, execute test plans, and work with RTL designers to ensure silicon quality for SoCs across data center, mobile, and automotive markets.

Work focuses on simulation-based verification, debugging, and automation to achieve functional coverage and verification closure.

Experience Level

Entry-level (early career). Suitable for new graduates or engineers with internships; approximately 0–3 years of relevant experience.

Responsibilities

Primary responsibilities include:

  • Develop and maintain UVM/SystemVerilog verification environments for DDR PHY IP.
  • Create and execute directed and constrained-random tests and functional coverage models.
  • Debug simulation failures, analyze waveforms, and collaborate with RTL designers to resolve issues.
  • Create and maintain verification collateral such as testbenches, checkers, and scoreboards.
  • Perform regression runs, track functional coverage, and drive verification closure.
  • Contribute to automation scripts for regression, data analysis, and verification efficiency improvements.

Requirements

Required and preferred technical skills (concise):

  • Strong foundation in digital design fundamentals: clocking, timing, and state machines.
  • Experience with or academic/internship exposure to SystemVerilog and UVM.
  • Proficiency in scripting for automation (Python, Perl, or TCL).
  • Ability to debug simulations and analyze waveforms; strong analytical and communication skills.
  • Familiarity with simulation tools such as Synopsys VCS, Cadence Xcelium, or Mentor Questa is preferred.
  • Basic understanding of DDR memory protocols and PHY architecture is a plus.

Education Requirements

Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Electrical Engineering, Computer Engineering, or a related discipline preferred.
