Collaborate with analog design, product engineering, and IP release teams to deliver validation data that enables customer adoption.

Focus on reducing time-to-market and improving IP quality by enforcing rigorous validation practices and improving lab infrastructure and automation.

Experience Level

Senior β€” typically requires 10+ years of relevant experience and 3+ years of people management.

Responsibilities

Lead and manage validation activities and team operations:

  • Lead a cross-functional silicon validation team of analog designers and hardware engineers for high-speed SerDes PHYs.
  • Oversee silicon bring-up, debug, and characterization using high-speed oscilloscopes, network analyzers, and custom test boards.
  • Review and approve characterization test plans, debug strategies, and detailed test reports to meet timelines and quality standards.
  • Coordinate design and bring-up of test boards and hardware solutions to support silicon testing and performance characterization.
  • Mentor team members on debugging techniques, circuit behavior analysis, and professional development.
  • Align validation milestones with product schedules and customer delivery commitments across teams.
  • Drive process improvements in validation workflows, test automation, and lab infrastructure to increase efficiency and coverage.

Requirements

Key qualifications and skills (must-have vs. nice-to-have):

  • Must-have: 10+ years in analog IC design, validation, or characterization with significant hands-on high-speed circuit experience.
  • Must-have: 3+ years of people management experience leading engineering teams.
  • Must-have: Deep debugging skills and fluency with lab equipment: high-speed oscilloscopes, network analyzers, signal generators, and custom test fixtures.
  • Must-have: Strong understanding of high-speed SerDes architectures, signal integrity, and analog circuit behavior under real-world test conditions.
  • Nice-to-have: Experience with interface protocols such as USB, PCI Express, SATA, Ethernet; familiarity with NRZ and PAM4 encoding.
  • Nice-to-have: Scripting or programming experience with MATLAB, Python, or similar tools for test automation and data analysis.

Education Requirements

Bachelor's degree in Electrical Engineering or a related field required; advanced degree preferred. Equivalent practical experience considered.
