Silicon Validation Engineer Undergraduate Intern

Role Summary

Join the power delivery and integrity post-silicon validation team to support validation of Intel silicon. As an undergraduate intern you will assist engineers with debugging, performance analysis, test automation, and validation infrastructure.

This is a hands-on role intended to give undergraduate students exposure to silicon validation processes, root-cause analysis, and engineering workflows.

Experience Level

Entry-level (Internship). Intended for undergraduate students; no professional years-of-experience required.

Responsibilities

Typical tasks for this internship include:

  • Collaborate with engineering teams to validate functional, power, and performance characteristics of silicon.
  • Assist in debugging, troubleshooting, and root-cause analysis of validation issues.
  • Contribute to test automation and improve validation infrastructure.
  • Perform data analysis to evaluate validation metrics and coverage.
  • Support development and maintenance of validation environments and tools.
  • Participate in team discussions and learning activities to adopt Intel validation practices.

Requirements

Must-have technical skills and attributes:

  • Familiarity with scripting languages such as Python or Perl.
  • Basic understanding of hardware architecture and computer systems.
  • Strong analytical skills and ability to interpret technical data.
  • Ability to work collaboratively within engineering teams.
  • Good communication and willingness to learn validation tools and processes.

Nice-to-have:

  • Exposure to test automation frameworks or tools.
  • Understanding of validation methodologies and hardware debugging techniques.

Education Requirements

Currently pursuing a Bachelor's degree (undergraduate) in Electrical Engineering, Computer Engineering, Computer Science, or a related discipline. Relevant coursework or experience in digital design, circuits, or microprocessors is expected.
