Job Title
Senior Test Engineer β SoC Microprocessors
Role Summary
Responsible for developing test methods and diagnostic software for SoC microprocessors through characterization, qualification, and production test. Work closely with design and verification teams prior to tapeout and support new product introduction (NPI) on advanced process nodes.
Based at the Austin Oakhill office; focus areas include ATE hardware interaction, test architecture, and post-silicon debug for high-performance SoCs.
Experience Level
Senior; typically requires 5+ years of recent semiconductor test development experience.
Responsibilities
Primary responsibilities include test development across NPI, characterization, qualification, and production.
- Design, develop, and implement cost-effective test methods for IP on advanced nodes, collaborating with Design and Verification before tapeout.
- Develop diagnostic programs and support qualification, characterization, and production testing.
- Debug silicon and manufacturing issues; define and execute test strategies.
- Analyze test data and apply statistical / six-sigma techniques to improve yield and test effectiveness.
- Collaborate with cross-functional teams and contribute to continuous improvement of test processes.
Requirements
Key must-have and preferred skills.
- 5+ years recent experience in semiconductor test development, silicon verification, or emulation.
- Hands-on experience with Advantest or Teradyne ATE, or system-level test development on FinFET/GAA SoCs at nodes below 28nm.
- Strong programming skills, including Verilog and Python.
- Understanding of ATE hardware at high speed and semiconductor development processes, including Verilog testbenches.
- Experience developing diagnostic programs and debugging manufacturing/test failures.
- Analytical skills and familiarity with statistics and six-sigma methods.
- Effective communicator and team player with demonstrated problem-solving in test development.
- Nice-to-have: experience with AI processors, SERDES (PCIe, USB, MIPI), HVST, scan, MBIST, or analog test.
Education Requirements
Bachelor's degree or above in Electrical Engineering.
