Job Title

Silicon Validation Engineer

Role Summary

Responsible for defining and executing functional and system-level validation strategies for Intel silicon products to ensure functionality, performance, and reliability. Works on post-silicon validation infrastructure, debug, and cross-functional integration to enable successful product launches.

On-site role based in Folsom, CA; requires presence at the Intel site at least four days per week.

Experience Level

Mid-level. Typical experience expectations per posting: Bachelor's + 5 years in a related role, or Master’s + 3 years.

Responsibilities

Primary responsibilities include planning, executing, and reporting validation and debug activities across silicon and system components.

  • Define, develop, and execute functional validation plans and strategies for silicon and integrated systems.
  • Perform silicon debug and root-cause analysis to resolve functional failures and triage issues.
  • Collaborate with architecture, design, verification, and manufacturing teams to optimize validation and troubleshoot problems.
  • Develop and maintain post-silicon validation infrastructure: monitors, behavioral checkers, and test environments.
  • Apply hardware and software tools to achieve validation coverage and meet performance goals.
  • Test feature and component interactions and conduct system-level testing under varied operating conditions.
  • Publish detailed validation reports and communicate results to stakeholders.
  • Improve validation methodologies, tools, and processes to increase efficiency and coverage.

Requirements

Must-have technical skills and experience derived from the role description.

  • Demonstrated experience in silicon or post-silicon validation and debug.
  • Experience developing validation infrastructure, monitors, and automated test environments.
  • Proficiency with hardware and software validation tools and system-level test methodologies.
  • Strong problem-solving and root-cause analysis skills for hardware/software interactions.
  • Effective collaboration and communication skills for cross-functional teams and reporting results.
  • Experience executing system-level tests across varied operating conditions.

Education Requirements

Bachelor's degree (or foreign equivalent) in Electrical/Electronic Engineering, Computer Engineering, Science, or other STEM-related degree with 5 years of related experience; or Master’s degree (or foreign equivalent) in those fields with 3 years of related experience.
