Job Title

Silicon Product Engineer

Role Summary

Responsible for ensuring quality, reliability, and manufacturability of silicon products through the product lifecycle from design to high-volume manufacturing. Works with cross-functional teams to define test and qualification plans, perform failure analysis, and drive yield and quality improvements.

This role requires on-site presence at the Intel Folsom site at least 4 days per week.

Experience Level

Mid-level. Experience guidance provided in Education Requirements: typically 3–5+ years of relevant industry experience depending on degree level.

Responsibilities

Primary responsibilities include planning and executing test and qualification activities and supporting manufacturing ramp.

  • Develop and execute test strategies, qualification plans, and test methodologies for product testability and manufacturability.
  • Perform failure analysis to identify root causes and recommend corrective actions to improve yield.
  • Collaborate with design, architecture, verification, and manufacturing teams to resolve technical issues and optimize performance.
  • Design, develop, and validate test methods, equipment, and automated testing solutions for production environments.
  • Perform circuit characterization, correlation analysis, and statistical evaluation to ensure compliance with specifications.
  • Evaluate and debug analog, RF, and digital integrated circuits under various operating conditions.
  • Develop and maintain control plans, FMEA documentation, and risk assessments for new products and technologies.
  • Support technology transfer and manufacturing ramp-up with data-driven analysis and cross-functional coordination.
  • Monitor post-silicon quality results and feed learnings back into product designs and processes.
  • Drive continuous improvement of testing processes, methodologies, and automation frameworks.

Requirements

Must-have technical skills and experience for successful performance in this role.

  • Proven experience in test strategy development, qualification planning, and manufacturing test execution.
  • Demonstrated failure analysis skills and ability to identify root causes and implement corrective actions.
  • Experience debugging analog, RF, and digital integrated circuits and correlating silicon behavior to design and process.
  • Ability to design and validate test methods, test equipment, and automated test solutions for production.
  • Experience performing statistical analysis, correlation studies, and data-driven yield improvement.
  • Experience creating and maintaining control plans, FMEA, and risk assessments.
  • Strong cross-functional collaboration and communication skills with engineering and manufacturing teams.
  • Ability to support manufacturing ramp and technology transfer activities with analytical rigor.
  • Nice-to-have: experience with test automation frameworks and production test environment deployment.

Education Requirements

Bachelor's degree or foreign equivalent in Electrical/Electronic Engineering, Computer Engineering, Science, or other STEM-related degree and 5 years of experience in the job offered or related occupation; or a Master’s degree or foreign equivalent in Electrical/Electronic Engineering, Computer Engineering, Science, or other STEM-related degree and 3 years of experience in the job offered or related occupation.
