Silicon Performance Architect, Reality Labs
Role Summary
Join the Reality Labs SoC Performance team to lead performance modeling, workload profiling, correlation, and analysis for custom silicon used in AI-enabled wearables. You will evaluate bottlenecks, build models and micro-benchmarks, and collaborate across hardware and software teams to guide design decisions.
Experience Level
Senior — typically requires 8+ years of relevant industry experience in performance architecture and modeling.
Responsibilities
You will be responsible for analyzing SoC performance and guiding HW–SW co-design.
- Perform bottleneck analysis on current and future SoCs and IP components.
- Develop and validate performance models for IP blocks, NoC, DRAM, and system fabric.
- Profile workloads, create micro-benchmarks, and characterize system usage behavior.
- Design performance experiments, analyze results, and present actionable findings to cross-functional teams.
- Identify optimization opportunities and work with hardware and software teams on HW–SW co-design.
- Coordinate with vendors, integrate new methodologies, and manage multiple performance initiatives.
Requirements
Must-have skills and experience required for success in this role.
- 8+ years building performance models using C/C++ or SystemC.
- Deep experience with SoC architecture, NoCs, memory sub-systems, QoS, and heterogeneous compute.
- Proficiency in Python for scripting, automation, infrastructure, and visualization.
- Understanding of power-performance trade-offs and power concepts.
- Strong analytical skills: designing experiments, analyzing/visualizing data, and documenting results for peers and partners.
Nice-to-have:
- Experience with cycle-accurate performance models and frameworks for accelerators, NoC, DRAM, MMU.
- Bare-metal programming, micro-benchmarking, performance instrumentation, and SimPoints experience.
- RTL design verification experience.
- Experience leveraging AI tools to optimize workflows and improve efficiency or quality.
Education Requirements
Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Computer Engineering, or a relevant technical field, or equivalent practical experience is required. A Master's degree in EE or CS is preferred. (Equivalent practical experience is explicitly accepted.)
