Silicon Partnerships Manager

Role Summary

Manage technical and commercial relationships with external semiconductor partners to deliver custom silicon (ASIC/SoC) for Meta's AR/VR, AI infrastructure, and consumer hardware products. Act as the main interface between Meta's silicon engineering teams and external chip vendors to ensure roadmap alignment and on-time delivery.

Experience Level

Mid-level — requires approximately 6+ years of program management or technical partnership management experience in the semiconductor or consumer electronics industry.

Responsibilities

Own coordination and program management for silicon supplier engagements across design, tape-out, bring-up, qualification, and production readiness.

• Serve as primary program management interface between internal silicon teams and external semiconductor partners.
• Define and manage joint program schedules; track milestones from architecture through mass production readiness.
• Identify, assess, and communicate execution risks (schedule, process readiness, supply constraints) and drive mitigation plans.
• Translate internal technical requirements into partner deliverables, schedules, and contractual commitments.
• Coordinate cross-functional alignment with hardware engineering, sourcing, legal, and operations.
• Drive partner readiness reviews and provide executive-level status updates.
• Develop engagement models, escalation paths, and governance for multiple concurrent partner relationships.
• Track partner performance metrics (schedule adherence, quality, milestone completion) and drive continuous improvement.

Requirements

Required qualifications focus on hands-on program management of silicon development with external partners and clear technical communication skills.

Must-have

• 6+ years in program management, technical partnership management, or engineering program management within semiconductor or consumer electronics industries.
• Experience managing external silicon/semiconductor supplier relationships across design, tape-out, bring-up, and qualification phases.
• Proven ability to translate complex silicon engineering requirements into partner deliverables, schedules, and risk mitigation plans.
• Data-driven approach to track program health, identify execution gaps, and drive resolution across cross-functional teams.
• Strong written and verbal communication of technical program status and tradeoffs to engineering and executive stakeholders.

Nice-to-have

• Experience with custom ASIC/SoC programs for consumer hardware, AR/VR devices, or AI accelerators.
• Familiarity with semiconductor process node selection, IP licensing, and foundry engagement models.
• Experience managing geographically distributed teams and international suppliers.
• Experience integrating AI tools into workflows and familiarity with responsible AI practices.
