Silicon Design Verification Senior Staff Engineer

Role Summary

Join the PCIe SubSystem IP verification team to develop and execute verification plans for high-performance PCIe subsystem IP used across AMD products (dGPU, APU, server, consoles). The role works closely with architects, designers and global verification peers to deliver IP-level verification and infrastructure.

Experience Level

Senior - candidate is expected to have substantial verification experience; posting indicates preferred 8+ years for experienced engineers and leadership in ASIC verification.

Responsibilities

Primary responsibilities focus on IP-level verification, infrastructure, and collaboration with design and architecture teams to achieve verification closure for PCIe SubSystem IP.

• Develop and maintain verification infrastructure and environments for IP-level verification.
• Design and implement verification components and testbenches in collaboration with design and architecture teams.
• Create verification plans for new PCIe SS IP features and drive to verification closure.
• Lead verification activities across the team and coordinate with global stakeholders.
• Contribute to testbench architecture and mentor junior engineers.

Requirements

Core technical skills and experience required or strongly preferred.

• Must-have: Strong ASIC design verification experience with multiple tape-outs and a proven verification flow.
• Must-have: Proficient with UVM, SystemVerilog and Verilog; experience in testbench architecture and team leadership.
• Must-have: Effective written English for technical documentation and global collaboration.
• Nice-to-have: Solid background in PCIe or other high-speed I/O protocols and SerDes PHY.
• Nice-to-have: Experience with low-power verification techniques.
• Nice-to-have: Familiarity with formal verification methods.

Education Requirements

Preferred: MSEE with 8+ years of experience, or BSEE with 10+ years of experience in digital ASIC/SoC design verification. (Posting expresses a preference for those degrees; equivalent industry experience is implied.)
