Job Title

Silicon Design Verification Engineer

Role Summary

Join the AMD SoC Verification team to develop and execute verification environments for complex IP and subsystem designs. Work primarily on UVM/SystemVerilog-based testbenches, focusing on functional, performance, and power-aware verification.

Experience Level

Mid-level. No specific years of experience stated.

Responsibilities

Primary responsibilities include creating verification plans, implementing testbenches, and collaborating with design engineers to close functional and coverage gaps.

  • Create test plans for complex IP and subsystem designs in collaboration with senior verification and RTL engineers.
  • Design and implement SystemVerilog/UVM testbenches and constrained-random or directed tests.
  • Develop and maintain SystemVerilog Assertions (SVA) and use formal verification tools where appropriate.
  • Debug failures with RTL engineers to deliver functionally correct design blocks and improve pass rates.
  • Coordinate with RTL teams to verify clock-gating, power-aware behavior, and other design aspects.
  • Track and report verification quality metrics such as pass rates, code coverage, and functional coverage.

Requirements

Must-have and preferred technical skills and experience.

  • Strong experience with SystemVerilog and UVM-based verification environments.
  • Practical skills in writing tests, debugging, and closing functional and coverage gaps.
  • Experience with SystemVerilog Assertions (SVA) and familiarity with formal verification tools.
  • Programming/scripting skills in C/C++ and Python for testbench and automation tasks.
  • Good understanding of computer organization, processor architecture, digital logic, and RTL implementation.
