Silicon Design Staff Engineer

Role Summary

Staff engineer on AMD's PCIe SubSystem team responsible for IP-level design verification of PCIe subsystem IP used across AMD products (dGPU, APU, Server, consoles). Collaborates with architects, designers, and DV engineers to define verification plans, build verification environments, and achieve verification closure for new IP features.

Experience Level

Senior — typically 8+ years of ASIC design verification experience preferred.

Responsibilities

Primary responsibilities include developing verification infrastructure, creating verification plans, and coordinating with design and architecture teams to close verification for PCIe SubSystem IP.

• Develop and maintain infrastructure and environments for IP-level design verification.
• Design and implement UVM/SystemVerilog testbench components and verification IP.
• Work closely with design and architecture teams to translate features into verification plans and tests.
• Lead verification closure activities and document verification sign-off for new IP features.
• Mentor and coordinate with global DV team members.

Requirements

Must-have:

• Extensive ASIC design verification experience and multiple ASIC tape-outs (8+ years preferred).
• Strong UVM, SystemVerilog and Verilog skills.
• Experience with verification flow and testbench architecture; experience leading teams or projects.

Nice-to-have:

• Background in PCIe or other high-speed I/O protocols and SerDes PHYs.
• Experience with low-power verification techniques.
• Knowledge of formal verification methods.
• Fluent written English for technical collaboration across global teams.

Education Requirements

Bachelor's or Master's degree in Computer Engineering, Electrical Engineering, or a closely related field.
