Silicon Design Lead - Analog Circuit

Role Summary

Work with third-party vendors on external analog IP and design/develop in-house custom analog and digital circuits to meet AMD AECG project requirements. The role emphasizes analog and mixed-signal design, simulation, validation, and cross-discipline collaboration.

Responsibilities

Primary responsibilities include:

  • Collaborate with architects, hardware, timing/PD, firmware engineers and external vendors to translate features into optimal analog/circuit design solutions.
  • Develop simulation plans accounting for interactions with hardware, firmware, and other features.
  • Perform simulation, modeling, and analysis to ensure compliance with performance and reliability specifications.
  • Produce comprehensive technical documentation, including design reports, validation results, and test summaries.
  • Support validation and debugging of analog and mixed-signal circuits during development and post-silicon phases.
  • Drive continuous improvement of design methodologies, tools, and workflows.
  • Provide technical mentorship to junior engineers and share best practices.

Requirements

Must-have skills and experience:

  • Hands-on analog circuit design and integration experience, preferably with sensors, die-to-die interfaces, GPIOs, or system-level design closures.
  • Proficiency with circuit simulation tools such as SPICE, Cadence, or equivalent EDA platforms.
  • Experience working with external vendors to close analog specifications and understand system-level dependencies.
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills; proven ability to deliver technical solutions in interdisciplinary teams.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication; able to collaborate across sites and time zones.
  • Ability to support post-silicon validation and debug mixed-signal designs.

Nice-to-have:

  • Experience with RTL design/verification or a solid understanding of digital design principles.
  • Track record of invention disclosures or IP contributions.

Education Requirements

Bachelor's or Master's degree in Electrical Engineering, Computer Engineering, Microelectronics, ECE, or a closely related discipline (as stated in the posting).
