Silicon Design Engineer

Role Summary

Design and validate ASIC and memory/interconnect components for high-performance computing and AI systems. Work with architecture, logic, simulation, and layout teams to develop and verify complex integrated-circuit designs and subsystems.

Primary activities include simulation and performance analysis, ML-driven automation for design-space exploration, predictive performance modeling, and cross-team debugging. Travel required: No.

Responsibilities

Key responsibilities for this role include:

  • Research, design, develop, and test electronic components and ASIC subsystems.
  • Define architecture, logic, module interfaces, and simulation formats for ASIC development.
  • Perform design verification, design reviews, and documentation for ASIC projects.
  • Develop ML-driven automation to explore large design spaces and identify optimal circuit and memory subsystem configurations.
  • Analyze large-scale simulation data to evaluate latency, throughput, bandwidth, and other performance metrics.
  • Build predictive performance models for early-cycle validation and trade-off analysis.
  • Run data-driven diagnostics to identify root causes of issues and work with design teams on solutions.
  • Apply statistical methods to ensure designs meet latency and throughput specifications.
  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams and apply engineering best practices and tools.

Requirements

Must-have technical skills and experience:

  • Experience using data analysis to evaluate memory-subsystem performance.
  • Experience automating design-space exploration and performance optimization.
  • Proficiency in one or more programming languages: C, C++, or Python.
  • Familiarity with CPU, GPU, or SoC architecture and related design concerns.
  • Strong understanding of data structures, algorithms, and fundamentals of data analytics or machine learning.

Education Requirements

Master's degree or foreign equivalent in Data Science, Computer Science, Computer Engineering, Electrical Engineering, Electronic Engineering, or a related field. Experience may also be demonstrated through graduate-level coursework, research, or internship experience.
