Silicon Design Engineer 2 - Multi subsystem verification

Role Summary

Join AMD's NBIO (North Bridge IO) MPME team to verify multi-subsystem interoperability, performance, power, and emulation for high-performance interconnect IP (PCIe, IOHUB, CIT, DACC and related subsystems). The role works with a global engineering organization across China, North America and Europe.

Responsibilities

The engineer will develop verification environments and test plans, run regressions and analyze coverage, and collaborate with global teams to deliver interoperable, high-performance subsystem IP.

  • Port or create DV environments for new designs and maintain testbenches.
  • Create and implement test plans; run regressions and perform regression cleanup.
  • Perform coverage analysis and work with assertions (PSL/SVA).
  • Develop performance and emulation-focused verification solutions across subsystems.
  • Collaborate with distributed engineering teams on multi-program implementations.
  • Mentor and provide technical guidance to junior engineers.
  • Propose and drive improvements to verification processes and tooling.

Requirements

Must-have technical skills and experience for effective contribution on the team.

  • Proficient in SystemVerilog and UVM for verification.
  • Experience with Verilog and C/C++.
  • Familiarity with coverage-based verification methodologies and use of hardware assertions (PSL or SVA).
  • Scripting skills (Python, Perl, or Ruby).
  • Fluent verbal English for technical discussions with a global team.

Nice-to-have:

  • Knowledge of PCIe or other high-speed IO protocols.
  • Familiarity with UPF (power format) and hands-on experience with NLP-related tooling are a plus.

Education Requirements

Bachelor's or Master's degree in Computer Engineering, Electrical Engineering, or a closely related technical field.
