Role Summary
Work on Qualcomm's Global CAD team to develop signoff timing and SPICE-based methodologies and CAD tools for Snapdragon SoCs. Collaborate with Physical Design, Timing, EDA vendors, and AI teams to improve accuracy, reduce compute, and shorten turnaround time.
Experience Level
Mid-level β typically 2β6 years of relevant signoff timing, SPICE simulation, or CAD experience.
Responsibilities
Primary responsibilities include design and validation of signoff timing and cell characterization flows, tool correlation, and production support.
- Improve timing and cell characterization methodology for mobile, compute, AI, and IoT SoCs.
- Enable and validate new cell characterization methods via SPICE correlation and CAD development.
- Correlate STA tools with SPICE and perform version-to-version validation.
- Provide technical support to Snapdragon design teams and manage requests via ticket queues.
- Interface with EDA vendors to enable production-ready toolsets and drive issue resolution.
- Maintain and augment STA regression suites for complex designs.
- Collaborate with AI teams on compute and turnaround-time optimization initiatives.
Requirements
Must-have technical skills and experience.
- Hands-on signoff timing and SPICE simulation experience for SoCs (block and/or top-level).
- CAD development experience to define and implement signoff tools and flows.
- Deep knowledge of STA features and timing concepts.
- Proficiency in scripting and programming (Python and TCL preferred).
- Experience working with EDA vendors and validating tool flows.
- Ability to debug STA and SPICE issues and act as a domain expert.
- Familiarity with advanced foundry process nodes and PPA-driven signoff constraints.
Education Requirements
Bachelor's degree in Science, Engineering, Computer Engineering, Electrical Engineering, or related field with 4+ years of ASIC design/verification/validation/integration experience; OR Master's degree in a related field with 3+ years; OR PhD in a related field with 2+ years. Maths minor is a plus. Equivalent practical experience accepted per the degree-based experience options listed above.
